Attestation of the Power of Attorney (POA)

Important Notes:

  • The documents issued by Government Authority of India, can be Attested by the Consulateonly if the documents are attested / apostilled by CPV Division, Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India, New Delhi. Visit the Indian Government's Portal for more details.
  • For documents issued in Government Authority of Germany, must be first notarized and attestedby District Court or Landesgericht

 

Follow the below steps in order to apply

  1. Create an account (Register yourself) on Alankit Indian Consular Application Centre (ICAC) website. Click Here to register.
  2. Book your appointment online at Alankit Indian Consular Application Centre (ICAC) website. You can choose a convenient date and time to visit the Alankit ICAC for your application submission. Click Here to book your appointment online.  
  3. Ensure that you have your all other supporting documents, exactly as per the "Documents Checklist" section. 
  4. Visit the Alankit ICAC, as per your jurisdiction. The address and location of the ICAC will be clearly mentioned in the appontment letter. 
  5. Kindly ensure you reach the ICAC 15 minutes prior to your appointment time. 
  6. Submit your application and deposit your fees at Alankit ICAC. You can check the fee for this application under the "Fee Details" section. 
  7. Your application submission process is now complete! You can avail our Courier service to get your attested document(s) delivered to your doorstep!

Documents Checklist for Attestation of the Power of Attorney (POA): Indian Nationals

  • Printed copy of the duly filled request form . (Click Here to download the form. )
  • 02 Copies of the required Power of Attorney. 1 copy that is to be attested and 1 copy for the office purpose. (Applicant should sign on every page of the power of attorney in front of the ICAC counter staff during the submission of the application)
  • 02 self-attested photocopies of Indian Passport (First and last pages of the personal particulars information).
  • Self-attested photocopy of valid German Stay Permit (Aufenthaltstitel/Visa/Personal Ausweis).
  • 01 self-attested photocopy of Proof of Current address in Germany (City Registration/ Meldebestätigung/ Anmeldung )
  • Proof of payment of the applicable fee (if made through bank transfer).
  • The applicant must bring one passport-size photo with them, and all documents must be self-attested.
  • All the Supportive documents must be self-attested.

NOTE:-
  1. Kindly note the applicant must visit to ICAC for submission of the application. Applications through Post will not be accepted for this service.
  2. Names should be entered in full (as in Passports) in the PoA.
  3. There should be enough blank space (approx. 10-15 cm) under the applicant's signature on the document for placing the Embassy/Consulate's attestation stamps/signatures.
  4. Applicant may bring their POA printed either on normal A4 papers or on Stamp Papers, as desired with photo of the executant pasted and duly signed by the executant.
  5. In case of joint POA, all the executants should visit the ICAC to sign the PoA.


Documents Checklist for Attestation of the Power of Attorney (POA): Foreign Nationals

  • Printed copy of the duly filled request form . (Click Here to download the form. )
  • 02 Copies of the required Power of Attorney (PoA). Kindly note that the Power of Attorney (PoA) is mandatorily required to be notarized and attested by the district Court (Landgericht) before submitting for attestation by the Embassy/Consulate.
  • Proof of payment of the applicable fee (if made through bank transfer).
  • The applicant must bring one passport-size photo with them, and all documents must be self-attested.
  • All the Supportive documents must be self-attested.
  • Enclose the filled Checklist.

If any additional documents is required based on the application, the applicant have to provide the same.

  3. What is the procedure for attestation of Power of Attorney?
    • For Indian Nationals:
      • Please prepare the PoA as per your requirement.
      • Book your appointment online on our website and visit Alankit ICAC (as per your correct jurisdiction) on the appointed date and time. Please carry your Indian passport in original, German Visa or Ausweis / Residence permit (in original), Aadhar Card (in original) and a copy of the PoA.
      • Submit your application and deposit the fee. You can pay in cash, or through your debit / credit card. Refer to the "Fees Details" section to know the exact fees you have to pay.
      • The PoA has to be signed by the applicant in front of the Alankit submission officer.
      • PoA is then deposited for registration and processing, and is usually returned within two working days.
    • For Foreign Nationals:
      • Please get the document notarized and attested by the District Court (Landsgericht) within your correct jurisdiction. Refer to "Jurisdiction" section to know your exact jurisdiction.
      • Book your appointment online on our website and visit Alankit ICAC (as per your correct jurisdiction) on the appointed date and time.

  4. What is the procedure for attestation of Affidavit & Declaration?
    • For Indian Nationals:
      • Please prepare the Affidavit and Declaration document as per your requirement.
      • Book your appointment online on our website and visit Alankit ICAC (as per your correct jurisdiction) on the appointed date and time. Please carry your Indian passport in original, German Visa or Ausweis / Residence permit (in original), Aadhar Card (in original) and a copy of the Affidavit and Declaration document.
      • Submit your application and deposit the fee. You can pay in cash, or through your debit / credit card. Refer to the "Fees Details" section to know the exact fees you have to pay.
      • The Affidavit and Declaration document has to be signed by the applicant in front of the Alankit submission officer.
      • Affidavit and Declaration document is then deposited for registration and processing, and is usually returned within two working days.
